Indians in the International League Phillips (4-2) earned the win by spreading out six hits striking out three and walking one The victory was sixth consecutive The Knights (30-8) in first place in the South Division took the lead in the second inning as Casey Rogowski led off with a single then stole second and third and scored on an error by Indians third baseman Yurcndell de Caster Jorge Vclandia had an RBI single in the third to score Darren Blakely The Knights then added another run in the sixth Marty McLcary (0-2) took the loss for Indianapolis (21-17) which is first in the West Division Charlotte reliever Jeff Farnsworth gave up a hit and struck out two in the ninth to earn his ninth save HBP-Richard (by Farnsworth) Att-3943 South Atlantic HICKORY Kannapolis beat Hickory 4-2 in a battle of last-place teams on Tuesday in front of 3168 fans at LP Frans Stadium Kannapolis (8-30) in last place in the South Division erased a 2-0 deficit with four runs in the fourth inning to beat Hickory (14-22) which is last in the North Divisioa Hickory scored twice in the first inning against Ricky Brooks when Brad single scored Brent Lilli-bridge and Cameron Blair scored when Brooks issued a bases-loaded walk to Jason Delaney In the fourth inning Daron Roberts hit a solo homer off Kyle Pearson to cut the lead to 2-1 then Eric Hollis had a single to score two more runs with one out and the bases loaded to make it 3-2 Leo bunt gave Kannapolis a 4-2 lead Brooks (3-2) worked 52A innings and allowed two runs four hits to earn the victory Pearson (2-1) allowed four runs on five hits in 3 76 innings in the loss Oneli Perez earned his third save for Kannapolis after pitching a scoreless ninth inning Both teams play today and Thursday at Kannapolis with both games beginning at
