Hungary didn’t roll over like Scotland had in the opening game, however.

A show of power and efficiency from Germany then. But at least this time, Hungary showed how they can cause any team issues. Scotland will have it tough in their final game, never mind tonight.

So Germany have already qualified, and Hungary’s future in the tournament hangs in the balance.

Yes, another Germany game — another Toni Kroos masterclass. We all knew it was coming.

He completed 124 passes today, and that is the second most on record by a midfielder in a European Championship game.

The only one with more? Xavi’s 127 successful passes for Spain against Republic of Ireland at Euro 2012.

Remarkably, that is the first time Germany have won the first two games of a European Championship for the first time since 2012, when they reached the semi-finals.

It is only the fourth time in history they’ve managed it — tThe others being 1980 (finished champions), 1996 (finished champions) and 2012 (semi-finalists).

So in short, it bodes well for them.

With that being two defeats from two for Hungary, they definitely cannot finish in the top two of Group A.

If they are to make the knockout stages, it will be in third. And it may well come down to their final group game against Scotland.

Then Neuer fails to hold onto a ball into the box. It bounces free but Orban’s shot is blocked on the line.

I have to say, even if that goes in I’d have still banked on Germany finding another goal.

Neat from Germany to score 22 minutes into each half. One of their biggest strengths is how varied their positioning is at crosses and cutbacks, having players on different lines to give different finishing options and making them harder to mark.

Good work from Mittelstadt there. I wasn't necessarily doubting him when I wondered pre-kick-off whether he would be creative enough if an opposition team managed to lock down Germany through the middle and ensure the left-back had a lot of the ball, but he certainly did well there.

Wonderful moment for Ilkay Gundogan, who has received so much flak — and particularly for his inability to contribute that kind of moment.

Actually, Gundogan has recently been accused of being an obstruction in that No.10 role. Now, he has practically guaranteed Germany a place in the knockout rounds.
