Do you get wet on airboat tours? ›

Q: Do we get wet on the airboat ride? A: No. You may feel a slight mist from the spray, but you will remain completely dry during the airboat ride.

Our tours last approximately two hours, to give you a good chance to see a wide variety of wildlife. Because all this time is spent out on the water, you can probably expect to get a little wet. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet and that are designed to dry quickly.

Book your tour! Approximately 1.5-hour swamp tour by boat. We suggest arrival 15 minutes prior to tour time. * 4:15PM Tour is Seasonal March 1 – October 31.

Light clothing that you can layer on and off is your best bet in both cases. Poncho or Rain Jacket: Let's face it, there's a chance you're going to get wet on the water. And while that's part of the fun, a good drenching from above can put a damper on the festivities.

A 20% gratuity is customary for great service.

Wear shoes that are comfortable, durable, and can get wet. Athletic shoes, sneakers, and water sandals are all good options. Sandals or flip-flops are not recommended as they can quickly slip off your feet during the ride. Also, avoid wearing high heels or any open-toed shoes.

What do you recommend wearing on your swamp tours? Comfortable, casual, & water-resistant is key! Because our tours are approximately two hours out on the water on a boat, we cannot guarantee that you will stay 100% dry the whole tour so it's best to wear something you don't mind getting wet.

This answer is dependent on the season. Summer= Early morning or late afternoon due to the heat. Spring/Fall= anytime of day although dawn and dusk provide the best lighting for photography. Winter= Middle of the day, giving you the most opportunity to see wildlife.

The swamp tour by Tourboat with pick-up does include ground transportation. Your comfort is guaranteed on our swamp tour boats. They have a roof, restroom, cushioned seats, and windows that can be raised or lowered during cold or rainy weather, along with plenty of standing and walking room.

Booking in the morning not only allows you to enjoy cooler temperatures, but it also increases your chances of spotting more wildlife. Many animals are more active during the morning hours, making it a great time to capture some stunning photographs.

How do I prepare for an airboat ride? ›

Normally six to nine depending on the passenger sizes or if it's a mixed group with kids. For most of our Fort Lauderdale airboat rides, we will book you aboard Southern Thunder, our custom built airboat.

We recommend you wear shorts, a t-shirt or blouse, and a pair of flip-flops or sandals on those warm days.

Airboats go on the *surface* of the water. They have a very shallow draft and as I said above, have no parts below the surface of the water, other than the flat bottom of the boat. The fan that runs the boat is on *top* of the boat, nowhere near the water.

Taking in a lot of sunlight during your airboat rides in Orlando may keep you warm but the winds will be cold, and you sure will feel the chill right in your marrows. So, we advise that you wear long-sleeved shirts, a scarf, and even a jacket to keep you nice and warm through your airboat ride in Orlando.
